Lamia Matriarchs
Lamia matriarchs are monstrous humanoids.
Monstrous humanoids are similar to humanoids, but with
monstrous or animalistic features. They often have magical abilities as well.
They have darkvision.
Monstrous humanoids breathe, eat, and sleep.
The queens of a race consumed by bitterness and predatory
instincts, lamia matriarchs mastermind all manner of foul plots in hopes of
breaking the bestial curse that afflicts their race. They move with shocking
ease from silver-tongued temptresses to dervishes, striking with all the deadly
precision of vipers. Quick to covet, enslave, and overindulge, lamia matriarchs
luxuriate in gory feasts, violent trysts, and bloody entertainments, reveling
until their playthings are broken or until they tire and move on.
Lamia matriarchs use manufactured weapons as if they were
Medium creatures.
They have the ability to assume the form of a specific
Medium humanoid creature, but retain most of their own physical qualities. This
ability functions as an alter self spell, but lamia matriarchs do not
adjust their most basic attributes (although they gain any other abilities of
the creature they mimic). They can remain in an alternate form indefinitely.
A lamia matriarch can cast spells as a sorcerer, and can
cast cleric spells as well as those normally available to a sorcerer. Cleric
spells are considered arcane spells for a lamia matriarch.
Lamia matriarchs have spell-like abilities. Spell-like
abilities are magical and work just like spells (though they are not spells and
thus have no verbal, somatic, focus, or material components). They go away in
an antimagic field and are subject to
spell resistance if the spell the ability is based on would be subject to spell
resistance.
A spell-like ability usually has a limit on how often it can
be used. A spell-like ability that can be used at will has no use limit. Using
all spell-like abilities is a standard action, and doing so provokes attacks of
opportunity. It is possible to use a spell-like ability defensively and avoid
an attack of opportunity, just as when casting a spell. A spell-like ability
can be disrupted just as a spell can be. Spell-like abilities cannot be used to
counterspell, nor can they be counterspelled.
A lamia matriarch may drain willpower each time she hits with
her melee touch attack. The first time each round that she strikes a foe with a
melee weapon, she also may drain willpower. Unlike with other kinds of drain
attacks, the lamia matriarch does not heal damage when she uses her drain
attack.
Lamia matriarchs have spell resistance.
They are immune to mind-affecting effects.
Lamia matriarchs have low-light vision.
