The Iron Cages of Lust, Part I (Thursday, Calistril (II) 6th, 4708 AR)

Empty Displays. These cages emanated strong evocation auras. The gold and silver cages were worth 1,000 gp each.



Pavilion Entrance. Numerous thick rugs, cushions, and tasseled pillows covered the floor of this decadent chamber. Strange, exotic scents were in the air, likely coming from several smoldering braziers and censers balanced on elegant silver stands in the corners of the room.






A group of stone giants stood guard here. The stone giants moved to block entrance into the room when the heroes entered, and bellowed out a warning to their "mistress". They then attacked. The giants fought to the death.




The four incense burners were minor magical devices that never went out or ran out of fuel; they could be commanded to emit any number of pleasant and mildly narcotic scents. Each was worth 500 gp.




Succubus' Chambers. The air in this room was unusually close - seeming almost to shimmer with pleasant-smelling mist. Pillows, cushions, and throw rugs covered the floor, and four beds sat in the corners of the room. Each bed had an iron frame to which numerous ropes and leather straps were attached. A large padded throne sat against the far wall, between two beds, while opposite it in another corner, a tall, spindly censer sat on a low wooden table - it was from here that the faint mist seemed to be issuing.








The surviving alu-demons had taken up a protective position at the succubus' side. The outsiders started combat by influencing Thurden, who proceeded to take off his armor and gear. The alu-demons avoided melee, but were still killed by the heroes.

The succubus reacted poorly to the heroes' presence, and attacked immediately. She had a number of illusory doubles of her that inhabited her space. She started a song and dance, then moved on to control the actions of Bruthien and Shalelu.







Two shining children also fought the heroes until banished. The heroes are still fighting the succubus.

Undead Lords

For every type of undead, there exists an undead lord, a being of great power that commands the lesser of its kind. They are powerful creatures that inspire awe and fear in those they rule. Undead lords constantly project an aura that functions as a permanent desecrate spell. In addition, channeling energy is harder. Undead lords ignore damage from most weapons and natural attacks. Wounds heal immediately, or the weapon bounces off harmlessly. They can take normal damage from energy attacks (even nonmagical ones), spells, spell-like abilities, and supernatural abilities. Magic weapons can damage undead lords normally. Undead lords are extremely dangerous opponents. They are stronger, tougher, and more intelligent than the ones they command. Riding dogs s are animals. An animal is a living, nonhuman creature, usually a vertebrate with no magical abilities and no innate capacity for language or culture. Animals have low-light vision. Animals breathe, eat, and sleep. Larger dogs (known to Small races like halflings and gnomes as riding dogs) include hardier breeds such as huskies, mastiffs, and wolfhouds. A riding dog can fight while carrying a rider, but the rider cannot also attack unless he is a skilled rider. Riding dogs can detect approaching enemies, sniff out hidden foes, and track by sense of smell. Riding dogs can identify familiar odors just as humans do familiar sights.
