Spider, Ogre

Ogre spiders are vermin.

Vermin include insects, arachnids, other arthropods, worms, and similar invertebrates.

They are mindless and thus immune to all mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, morale effects, patterns, and phantasms).

Vermin have darkvision.

They breathe, eat, and sleep.

Ogre spiders are brutal, terrifying hunters that build tangled webs capable of encasing entire trees. So-named because the arrangement of its eyes and mandibles gives it a face unnervingly similar to that of an ogre as much for their size, ogre spiders can fit into nooks and tunnels far more narrow than one might expect.

An ogre spider is sensitive to vibrations in the ground and can automatically pinpoint the location of anything that is in contact with the ground.

An ogre spider can poison those it attacks. Poisons can be removed through neutralize poison and similar effects.

Ogre spiders can use webs to support themselves and up to one additional creature of the same size. In addition, ogre spiders can throw a web. This is similar to an attack with a net, and is effective against targets up to one size category larger than the ogre spider. An entangled creature can escape with an Escape Artist check or burst the web with a Strength check. Both are standard actions. Attempts to burst a web by those caught in it are difficult.

Ogre spiders can create sheets of sticky webbing up to three times their size. They usually position these webs to snare flying creatures but they can also try to trap prey on the ground. Approaching creatures must notice a web; otherwise they stumble into it and become trapped as though by a successful web attack. Attempts to escape or burst the webbing are easier if the trapped creature has something to walk on or grab while pulling free.

An ogre spider can move across its own web and can pinpoint the location of any creature touching its web.
