Local Heroes, Part 4 (Monday, Rova 24th 4707 AR)

Image
The boars of Tickwood are typical specimens of their ilk - ill tempered and quick to attack anyone who intrudes upon their territory. After the heroes killed the boar, Aldern invited them back to the Rusty Dragon that evening, where he handed the boar over to Ameiko to cook for a big dinner. There are only two inns in Sandpoint, so other than Urtrigor who is local, the heroes need to visit either the White Deer or the Rusty Dragon whenever they need to rest. Since the owner of the Rusty Dragon offered the heroes free rooms for a week as a thanks for their heroics, and since Aldern Foxglove is staying here and invited the heroes here to share a meal, the heroes soon become regulars at the Rusty Dragon. Ameiko runs a very adventurer-friendly establishment, and the locals who frequent the establishment's tavern enjoy hearing stories of derring-do and hijinks from the tavern's visitors.

Boars

Boars are animals. An animal is a living, nonhuman creature, usually a vertebrate with no magical abilities and no innate capacity for language or culture. Animals have low-light vision. Animals breathe, eat, and sleep. Much more ill-tempered and dangerous than their domesticated kin, boars are omnivorous creatures common to temperate forests, although they are not unknown in tropical climes. Other variants exist as well, such as the particularly ugly warthogs that dwell in tropical plains and savannahs. Boars are often hunted for their flesh, which is considered delicious by most humanoids. Those who hunt boars often do so with a special spear fitted with a cross beam to prevent an impaled boar from pushing forward along the spear shaft to gore its tormentor. The boar's stubborn nature and habit of eating even bones makes it well suited as a pet for certain folk. Many thieves' guilds keep boars for the disposal of bodies, while orc tribes let them run loose
